In a world that was plagued by other-worldly phenomena, war of epic proportions, and incomprehensible, mind-rending chaos, the true battle was internal. It was the struggle to stay separate and individual despite it all. To maintain strength, values, a sense of self under the smothering, crushing pressure of a painful destiny and inescapable circumstances. From the white-hot forge of such a world rose heroes and warriors, and through the strength of these individuals came the downfall of the times that had so brutally created them. A numbing blanket of uneasy peace descended over the world of Men, and the forces that had for so long struggled to rend the world asunder fell into the shadows and were eventually swayed by the calm. The powerful will to stand apart, the will to fight, the strength of a warrior slipped away into the depths of the human spirit, and in many ways it was snuffed out for all eternity. The world had no more use for heroes. ...And yet, in a world tamed and lulled into submission, there will always rise a new threat. There will always be a story. But then, who will the characters in this story be? Where will life's eternal pages find them? And when the forge is rekindled in such a time, who will be strong enough not to crack, melt, or simply dissolve in the flame?
